Terms of Service
After is a product owned and operated by Inside Charleston, LLC. These Terms govern your use of afterapp.app and any related pages, features, and services.
Last updated: September 1, 2026. Effective: September 1, 2026.
1. Who we are
After is a product owned and operated by Inside Charleston, LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company (“Inside Charleston,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). After is a registered trade name of Inside Charleston, LLC. These Terms govern your use of afterapp.app and any related pages, features, and services we provide (together, the “Service”).
Contact: hello@afterapp.app. Mailing address: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What After does
After helps homeowners understand and organize what has happened to their home after property damage. Depending on the features you use, the Service may:
- read documents you upload, including insurance policies, endorsements, carrier correspondence, estimates, invoices, and receipts, and show you what they say with citations to the page or section where the language appears
- summarize provisions your carrier has referenced and show related language found in your own policy
- help you organize photographs, expenses, communications, visits, and a timeline related to your loss
- generate a report or summary you can read, save, or share
- suggest neutral questions you may want to ask, and practical documentation steps
- point you to publicly available resources, including your state insurance department
3. What After is not
After provides informational and organizational tools only. After is not, and does not act as:
- an insurance company, agency, broker, or producer
- a public adjuster or any other licensed claims adjuster
- a law firm, and no part of the Service is legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship
- a financial, tax, or professional advisor of any kind
After does not decide, determine, predict, or opine on whether coverage applies to your loss. After does not tell you whether your claim is valid, whether an insurer acted properly or improperly, what your claim is worth, whether you should file a claim, whether you should accept or reject a settlement, or what your legal rights are.
Statements produced by the Service describe what your documents say and what questions the documents leave open. They are not conclusions about coverage or about the merits of any claim. Only your insurer, your policy, applicable law, and where relevant a licensed professional can determine those things.
You are solely responsible for your decisions about your claim, your property, and your insurance. Always confirm coverage, deadlines, reimbursement, and strategy with your insurer, a licensed public adjuster, or an attorney.
Nothing in the Service should be relied upon to delay any action needed to protect health, safety, or property, or to prevent further damage.
4. Deadlines and time-sensitive matters
Insurance policies and state law contain deadlines, including notice requirements, proof of loss deadlines, and time limits for bringing suit. Where the Service displays a deadline, it does so only because that date appears in a document you uploaded or in a source we cite, and it will identify that source.
We do not calculate, track, guarantee, or remind you of deadlines. Missing a deadline can permanently affect your rights. Confirm every deadline with your insurer or a licensed professional. We are not responsible for any deadline you miss.
5. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for use in the United States only.
Some features may be used without an account. Where an account exists, you are responsible for the accuracy of your information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@afterapp.app if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
6. Your documents and content
You keep ownership of everything you upload or create in the Service, including policies, letters, estimates, photographs, notes, and expense records (“Your Content”).
You grant Inside Charleston a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, to maintain and secure it, and to comply with law. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies retained in routine backups for the period described in our Privacy Policy, and except where we must retain records to comply with law.
You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that doing so does not violate any law or any other person’s rights.
We do not sell Your Content. We do not use the contents of your insurance documents to train artificial-intelligence models.
7. Payment
Some features are paid. Prices are shown before purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your payment card details are handled by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not store your full card number.
The After Report is a one-time fee of $39.00 USD, following a free scan. Prices may change prospectively; changes do not affect a purchase already completed.
Refunds. All sales are final. Once your report and workspace unlock, the payment is not refundable. If a technical problem keeps your documents from being read, contact us at hello@afterapp.app and we will make it right.
Taxes, if any, are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
8. Artificial intelligence and accuracy
The Service uses artificial intelligence and automated processing to read documents and generate summaries, extracts, and suggested questions.
Automated systems can make mistakes. They can misread, miss, or misclassify language in a document.
Output may be incomplete or wrong even when it appears confident and cites a page. You must verify anything that matters against the underlying document and with a qualified professional.
Some content on the Service is written by an automated system and is labeled as such where that is the case. Content published under a human byline is written by a person.
We make no promise that any output is accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation.
9. Sharing
The Service may let you generate a link that lets another person view selected information. If you create such a link, you are responsible for who you send it to and what it contains. Anyone with the link may be able to view the shared information. Do not share a link with anyone you do not intend to give access to, and revoke it when you are done. Share links expire after 14 days unless revoked sooner.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive, including submitting false information to an insurer
- upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that contains another person’s information without their permission
- attempt to access data that is not yours, probe or breach security, or interfere with the Service
- scrape, crawl, or harvest the Service, or use automated means to access it except as we expressly permit
- reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable by law
- resell, sublicense, or provide the Service as a service to third parties without our written permission
- misrepresent your relationship to After or to Inside Charleston
We may suspend or terminate access for any violation.
11. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third-party providers, including hosting, payment, analytics, communications, and artificial-intelligence providers. It may also link to third-party sites such as government resources and vendor directories. We do not control third-party sites or services and are not responsible for them. Their terms and privacy practices govern your use of them.
Any listing, link, or mention of a vendor, contractor, professional, or resource is not an endorsement or a recommendation, and we make no representation about their qualifications, licensing, or performance.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inside Charleston disclaims all warranties, express, implied, and statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that any defect will be corrected, or that any output will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Inside Charleston and its members, managers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility.
We will not be liable for any denial, delay, reduction, or loss of insurance benefits, for any deadline missed, or for any decision you make about your claim or property.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inside Charleston and its members, managers, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, and expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 3, 6, 12, 13, 14, and 16.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina. You and Inside Charleston each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to venue there. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date and take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting a notice in the Service. Your continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Inside Charleston regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
